Kagyu Samye Ling

Kagyu Samye Ling – Monastery and Tibetan Centre

Established in 1967 in a local farmhouse near the village of Eskdalemuir, Kagyu Samye Ling has grown into a flourishing Monastery and Centre for the preservation of Tibetan Buddhism, Arts, Medicine and Culture. The magnificent temple, made with modern materials but following traditional design, was built entirely by volunteers and is the focal point for the expanding community. Visitors are welcome to the Monastery and gardens until 9 p.m. daily and a wide variety of courses are on offer throughout the year. The tea rooms are open during the day for light refreshments and guided tours can be arranged in advance.

Kagyu Samye Ling is situated 15 miles north of Lockerbie and can be reached via the B723 and then B709.
